Chatfield Storage Reallocation Project Reaches Full Pool

The Chatfield Reservoir Mitigation Company (CRMC) proudly announces that it has achieved its full multi-purpose water storage capacity of 20,600 acre-feet in Chatfield Reservoir. This significant milestone marks the first time the Chatfield Storage Reallocation Project (Project) has reached its new operational high level of 5,444 feet following the final authorization by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) in May 2020.

Plum Creek Picnic Area and Plum Creek Nature Area Closed – January 24-31

Due to helicopter forestry work occurring in the Plum Creek area, the Plum Creek Picnic Area and the Plum Creek Nature area will be closed from January 24 through January 27.

Lane Closure in effect for Perimeter Road: 5/17/21 – 5/21/21

In order to perform roadway repairs on a portion of Perimeter Road west of Gravel Ponds and Kingfisher Day Use Areas, traffic will be reduced to one lane of traffic beginning Monday, May 17th, 2021 at 7:00am and lasting until Friday, May 21st, 2021 at 5:00pm.

Season 1 Construction Updates

Chatfield Reservoir Mitigation Company, in collaboration with the project’s contractors and Chatfield State Park, have updated the anticipated schedule for the remaining Season 1 areas impacted by construction. The schedule revisions account for some delays and accelerations due to a variety of construction-related factors. Based on extensive analysis of construction productivity, the revised reopening dates are more accurate and should provide visitors with a better idea of what will be accessible while Season 1 construction winds down. All of the project’s participants remain committed to reopening areas as soon as possible, while ensuring construction is conducted safely and efficiently.

North Boat Ramp at Chatfield State Park Due to Open April 1st

As part of the Chatfield Storage Reallocation Project, an important regional water supply endeavor, the leadership team at Chatfield State Park is pleased to announce that the north boat ramp will be open for public use on Sunday morning, April 1st.

North Boat Ramp to Reopen Sunday, April 1st and Overall Schedule Updates

Starting this Sunday, April 1st, the North Boat Ramp will be re-opened to boaters. Amenities and facilities that will be accessible include: ample parking for vehicles and trailers, inspection stations for aquatic nuisance species, ramp space at two locations, and courtesy docks that can accommodate up to eight boat launches at one time. Temporary restroom facilities will also be provided.
