North Boat Ramp
Construction at the North Boat Ramp continues to go well. Concrete curbs and gutters are being installed and asphalt paving has also commenced. Current progress shows the North Boat Ramp on track to reopen to the public by April 1, 2018.
Chatfield State Park typically opens one boat ramp as early as March 1, 2018 AND when ice-off has occurred. Since the North Boat Ramp will not be ready until April 1, 2018, Chatfield State Park is currently planning on opening the South Boat Ramp once ice conditions have improved. Please check out the Park’s website at: http://cpw.state.co.us/placestogo/parks/Chatfield/Pages/default.aspx for more information as to an opening date.
Temporary Road Detour at West Entrance
A temporary detour will soon be put in place at the Park’s West Entrance off of Wadsworth Boulevard. The temporary detour will allow for the construction of the new alignment of the West Entrance and Perimeter Road, while still allowing the public to access to the Park’s facilities on the north side, including the Dog Off Leash Area and Dam Overlook. Completion of the West Entrance realignment is scheduled to be completed by mid-April 2018.
Please keep in mind that the Perimeter Road remains CLOSED from south of the West Entrance to Kingfisher Day Use Area. Please obey all traffic control in place. This section of the Perimeter Road is anticipated to be reopened by Memorial Day 2018.
Balloon Launch
Based on the current projected schedule, the Balloon Launch Area is anticipated to be reopened by mid-April 2018. The reopening is largely contingent upon the completion of the section of Perimeter Road from the Park’s West Entrance to the Balloon Launch. Updated information on a refined reopening date will be provided on the Construction Updates webpage. The Balloon Launch Area was previously scheduled to be reopened by Memorial Day 2018.
