Perimeter Road and Trails (West Entrance to Kingfisher Day Use Area)
The opening of the new stretch of Perimeter Road from the West Entrance to Kingfisher Day Use Area is expected to occur by Friday afternoon, June 15, 2018. Trail work along the Perimeter Road will be ongoing past June 15th. More information as to the projected reopening of portions of the trails will be provided soon.
Deer Creek Crossing
The new bridge spanning Deer Creek, and the new alignment of the Perimeter Road stretching north to Eagle Cove, is on schedule to be completed by June 15, 2018. The existing portion of Perimeter Road from the West Entrance to Eagle Cove will remain open until the realignment is ready for traffic to be diverted.
South Platte Environmental Mitigation
Starting June 11, 2018, construction activities will commence at several locations along the South Platte River, including Cigar Lake, Willow Creek, Titan Lake, and Lower Titan Lake. No work will occur within the actual South Platte River channel.
For construction access and safety reasons, certain trails will be closed Mondays – Fridays. Trails will reopen to public access on the weekends. A detailed map of the weekday trail closures is being finalized and will be made available soon.
