Perimeter Road and Trails (West Entrance to Kingfisher Day Use Area)
The reopening of the new Perimeter Road for use during the Summer 2018 season has been a critical priority for CRMC and Chatfield State Park. The reopening is expected to occur by mid-June 2018. We continue to monitor construction activities closely and will regularly post to our website updated information as it becomes available.
Balloon Launch/Deer Creek Day Use Area
Starting May 19, 2018, the Balloon Launch and Deer Creek Day Use Area are reopened to the public. In order to protect the newly placed seeding and revegetation, some of the area has been fenced-off. Please be respectful of all fenced-off areas to allow for successful regrowth of vegetation.
Plum Creek Day Use Area
As of May 14, 2018, the Plum Creek Day Use Area is reopen to the public for the 2018 summer season. Access to some of the shoreline to the east, especially access to the Plum Creek Nature Area, will be restricted. Work within the Plum Creek Nature Area is ongoing through 2018 and remains closed to the public.
Eagle Cove
Eagle Cove is on track to reopen by May 25, 2018.
Deer Creek Crossing
The new bridge spanning Deer Creek and the new alignment of the Perimeter Road, from the West Entrance stretching north to Eagle Cove, is on schedule to reopen by June 8, 2018. The existing Perimeter Road will remain open until the realignment is ready for traffic to be diverted.
