Chatfield Reservoir Water Storage Remains High to Start 2024 Season

Due to longer than normal and sustained precipitation, as well as cooler temperatures throughout 2023 and into 2024, Chatfield Reservoir has continued to be full for longer than anticipated. Chatfield Storage Reallocation Project Reaches Full Pool

The Chatfield Reservoir Mitigation Company (CRMC) proudly announces that it has achieved its full multi-purpose water storage capacity of 20,600 acre-feet in Chatfield Reservoir. This significant milestone marks the first time the Chatfield Storage Reallocation Project (Project) has reached its new operational high level of 5,444 feet following the final authorization by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) in May 2020.

Plum Creek Picnic Area and Plum Creek Nature Area Closed – January 24-31

Due to helicopter forestry work occurring in the Plum Creek area, the Plum Creek Picnic Area and the Plum Creek Nature area will be closed from January 24 through January 27.

Lane Closure in effect for Perimeter Road: 5/17/21 – 5/21/21

In order to perform roadway repairs on a portion of Perimeter Road west of Gravel Ponds and Kingfisher Day Use Areas, traffic will be reduced to one lane of traffic beginning Monday, May 17th, 2021 at 7:00am and lasting until Friday, May 21st, 2021 at 5:00pm.

CRMC is thrilled to inform you that all recreational modifications and environmental mitigation work have been completed.  We can’t wait for you to visit the new Marina floating building, explore areas of the Park that you may not have visited since construction started over two years ago, and even discover new areas of the Park not previously accessible.

January 2, 2018 – Construction Activities Update

Beginning Tuesday, January 2, 2018, all day use facilities and trails located along the west side of the Reservoir are now closed. Impacted areas include North Boat Ramp, Massey Draw, Eagle Cove, Swim Beach, Balloon Launch, Deer Creek, Jamison, Catfish Flats, and Fox Run. The West Perimeter Road south of the Swim Beach to west of Kingfisher is closed to the public until May 25, 2018.
