Season 1 Construction Updates
March 30, 2018
Phase 2 of the Sugar Creek Environmental Project Set for Construction
May 1, 2018

Massey Draw, Balloon Launch, and Deer Creek Day Use Areas are scheduled to reopen May 1, 2018.

Based on the current construction progress, Chatfield Storage Reallocation Project is pleased to report that the following amenities are scheduled to reopen soon to the public.  Please keep in mind that these reopenings are subject to change due to weather delays and/or unforeseen construction issues that may arise.  Reopening announcements will be posted to our website, https://chatfieldreallocation.org/construction/, as well as on our social media platforms.

Massey Draw

Massey Draw is on track to reopen by May 1, 2018.  While the day use area will be re-opened to the public, landscaping and revegetation work will have been freshly placed and will be extremely delicate. Please respect all fenced-off areas to allow for successful regrowth of vegetation.

Balloon Launch/Deer Creek Day Use Area

The Balloon Launch and nearby Deer Creek Day Use Area are also on course to reopen by May 1, 2018.  Seeding and vegetation work in this area will be on-going.  Please be respectful of revegetated areas.

West Entrance – New Alignment

The new alignment at the Park’s West Entrance is scheduled to be paved, and traffic re-diverted, by May 1, 2018.

Please keep in mind that the Perimeter Road remains CLOSED from south of the newly-aligned West Entrance to Kingfisher Day Use Area.  Kingfisher, Gravel Ponds, Marina, and other park amenities on the east side of the park are currently only accessible via the Park’s South Entrance off of Titan Road.

Plum Creek Day Use Area

Plum Creek Day Use Area is scheduled to be reopened to the public, for the 2018 summer season, the week of May 14th, 2018.  Access to some of the shoreline to the east, especially access to the Plum Creek Nature Area, will be restricted.  Work within the Plum Creek Nature Area is ongoing through 2018.
