On November 15, 2024, the Chatfield Reservoir Mitigation Company (CRMC) began a new phase of selective tree removal as part of the Chatfield Storage Reallocation Project. The schedule for the third round of selective tree removal since 2018 is as follows:
- Mid-October to the end of November: Small crew will work to remove accessible trees from the ground, starting at North Boat Ramp and moving down toward Catfish Flats.
- December 12 to December 21: Helicopter activities will begin near Fox Run and work south toward Kingfisher. The Fox Run parking lot and Perimeter Trail will be closed through December 21.
- January to March 1: Depending on ice and ground conditions, reservoir elevation, weather, and other factors, helicopter and ground operations could continue in the Kingfisher, Fox Run, and Catfish Flats areas.
- March 1 to April 1: All material will be hauled off-site, and reseeding efforts will commence in areas impacted by operations.
